Carolyn Ringo, Member
Blue Sage Board of Directors
Carolyn Ringo says she was raised in a small town in Illinois, but actually grew up in California. She has been on the Board since 2011, and joined because she believes that the Blue Sage is an integral part of keeping this community healthy, and that it adds great heart, depth and breadth to the North Fork Valley. She also loves the color purple.
Why did the Board accept her? In previous lives she has gained valuable experience founding and directing a non-profit, organizing people (particularly volunteers), and organizing events. She also enjoys public speaking, team building and systems analysis and design. The truth is that she blew the Board away by jumping in and organizing the 2011 Volunteer Revival Potluck and they had subliminally been recruiting her ever since.
Carolyn refuses to single out any Blue Sage event as her favorite, but she does love all the music and dancing. She loves the Blue Sage for being a community space for events, classes, art and shared values, and in the year 2020 hopes to see the Blue Sage do more of what it is doing and to see the hall used all day, everyday.
Outside of the Blue Sage, Carolyn works as a relationship and communications coach for couples, a mediator, wedding officiant, home funeral guide, and Wilderness Rites of Passage Guide. Carolyn endeavors to make it all fun, and not take herself too seriously, and finds enjoyment in reading, hiking, gardening and having intimate conversations. When things get tough she remembers:
“Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves for they shall never cease to be amused.”
